The Chrysalis House, Inc. of Tampa, Florida
In 1983, three women had a dream to provide a safe and secure place for women to heal and grow during the process of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. These professional women made that dream come true with pot -luck dinners, secondhand furniture and small donations from friends and family- along with the help from our corporate friends. The dream became a reality; a recovery home for women, a home that would provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment conductive to recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.
The residents of The Chrysalis House, Inc. are bound by a strict set of rules that provide the structure they need to turn their lives around and become contributing members of society. The women attend a twelve-step meeting on a daily basis, have a curfew, participate in individualized treatment programs, perform assigned daily chores and have a job. There is a zero tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use.
We have a working relationship with several treatment centers and hospitals in the Tampa Bay area. Our applicants come to us from local centers as-well-as the Betty Ford Center and Hazelton Treatment Centers. The Chrysalis House, Inc. has enjoyed a very high success rate through the years; seventy percent recovery for alcoholics and sixty percent for drug addicts stay clean and sober.
